The Shining Girls, Lauren Beukes

You'd think a time-traveling serial-killer narrative would be hard to pull off, but Beukes does it with aplomb in this engaging, smart, hypnotic summer read.  I liked this thought, on openness:

I think curiosity trumps ignorance. I think comparing scars helps.
