Paint play

I’ve been enjoying smooshing around acrylics and trying more mixed media. This one combines a vintage coloring book I painted on, combined with magazine text clips and watercolor sample cards. Uncertainty rules the day.

Back to school

The smell of fresh erasers and Elmer’s glue is in the air; my daughter starts first grade soon. Made a little tribute with a found photo of much older, more seasoned scholars. Here’s to a happy, healthy school year for all.

Many hands make light work

Lovely opening for the Light Work PDX show. Please to have a mixed media collage piece, Inertia, in it! Make art, enjoy art, spread joy.

Work in progress

Been trying out collaging directly into old books. Although I feel slightly squidgy about desecrating any tome, it’s an interesting exercise, and it’s been fun experimenting on the fly.

Collage craze

Been honing my collage practice recently; some will appear in the Paper Cuts show at Collapse Gallery from July 9-31, driven by the PNW Collage Collective and sponsored by the Doug + Laurie Kanyer Art Collection. Check it out if you happen to be in the Pacific Northwest!
