National Collage Society 38th Annual Juried Show

I joined the National Collage Society this year, and was pleased to be selected for their annual juried show. My piece, “words fail,” is shown below — and you can see all 70 pieces in the online exhibit here! You can also see it in person at Coburn Art Gallery in Ashland, Ohio. Congrats to all the talented artists; I’m humbled and honored to show with you.

Analog collage artwork on square board. The bottom 2/3 are layered scraps covered in text; a black line offsets the top third, which is neutral and speckled with a burst of graphite powder.

12x12x12: A Celebration of Community

I have a piece up in 12x12x12: A Celebration of Community, on view at ARTSpace Gallery in Lake Oswego, Oregon, through October 28 (gallery hours 10a-5p, Tuesday through Friday). Check it out — there are more than 60 artists featured, and it’s a wonderful collection!

Recent collages, for ICAD2022

As mentioned in the previous post, I’ve been doing a creative challenge since June 1, which has been a nice way to pass some time. Daisy Yellow Art does something called Index Card a Day, where — you guessed it — you make one piece on an index card each day. Beyond that, there aren’t too many constraints, although there are some suggestions for themes, as well as daily prompts, if that’s your sort of thing. Here’s a small sampling from my first month participating; still plenty of time to play along if you’d like!

Many hands make light work

Lovely opening for the Light Work PDX show. Please to have a mixed media collage piece, Inertia, in it! Make art, enjoy art, spread joy.
